Christine Beebe is a Producers Guild Member with an MFA in film directing from CalArts. Before joining the guild, she was nominated by the PGA for Outstanding Producer in Documentary Film for her work on the 2018 documentary feature, HAL. Following that nomination and several films, she became an executive in development at Lucasfilm where she developed and executive produced the feature documentary MORE THAN ROBOTS and the first-ever Star Wars game show, JEDI TEMPLE CHALLENGE. She also developed a 6-part documentary series, LIGHT & MAGIC directed by Lawrence Kasdan.
She has produced seven award-winning feature-length documentary films that have premiered at prestigious festivals such as Sundance, Telluride, SxSW, HotDocs, SIFF, AFI Fest, AFI Docs, IFFR, and the Viennale. Notably, her Emmy-nominated short form documentary series, WE’VE BEEN AROUND, won Outfest’s Audience Award and GLAAD’s Special Recognition Award. Her most recent documentary film, WELCOME SPACE BROTHERS by Jodi Wille, is currently screening at festivals.
In addition to developing new projects, she is getting back to her roots, writing a book with her family about her maternal grandfather, the Maine painter Claude Montgomery; creating cultural experiences in Washington DC led by the erudite subject of her first feature film, Felix Pfeifle; and mentoring high school students from underserved communities through Minds Matter. Originally from Maine, she resides in Los Angeles with her two children.
